Camping is free but requires a permit from the Sequoia Riverlands Trust. Amenities are minimal: there are no toilets, water, or RV hookups—this is primitive camping with a few fire rings and picnic tables. Expect a quiet, rustic experience under dense valley oaks, perfect for birdwatching and stargazing. The area features short nature trails and is about 45 minutes from Sequoia National Park. Best visited in spring or fall for mild weather and wildlife activity. Reservations aren’t typically required, but check ahead for current access details.
