The Sunbeam Run on the Salmon River in Idaho is a class III to IV river run, with exhilarating rapids and stunning scenery. The section from Stanley to Sunbeam Dam features several challenging rapids such as the "Devil's Tooth" and "Elkhorn", as well as narrow passages and strong currents. The best time to float this section of water is during late spring to early summer when the water levels are high enough. Recommended CFS for this run is between 1,500 to 5,000. A skilled guide is highly recommended for this river run.
