The Alpine Canyon West Table to Sheep Gulch river run on the Snake River in Wyoming is a fun and challenging adventure for experienced rafters. The Class III rapids and technical sections make this a difficult run, but the stunning scenery and wildlife sightings make it worth it. The best time to float this section is in the summer, when water levels are higher, with a recommended flow of 1,000-3,000 cfs. Obstacles to watch out for include Lunch Counter, Big Kahuna, and the famous Pillow Rock. It is recommended to go with a guide or have previous whitewater experience for this section of the Snake River.
