Fryer Dam, located in Wetumpka, Florida, was completed in 1968 and is primarily used for irrigation purposes. Managed by a private owner, this earth dam on Vote Creek has a height of 13 feet and a length of 510 feet, with a storage capacity of 128 acre-feet. The dam also serves as a fish and wildlife pond, covering a surface area of 10 acres and draining a 1.21 square mile watershed.
With a significant hazard potential and a moderate risk assessment rating, Fryer Dam is regulated and inspected by the Northwest Florida Water Management District. The dam's spillway, measuring 100 feet wide, is uncontrolled, and its outlet gates are also uncontrolled.
