Redinger Lake is a reservoir located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.
It was created in 1951 by the construction of the Redinger Dam on the San Joaquin River. The lake has a capacity of 210,000 acre-feet and serves as a vital source of water for irrigation, municipal, and industrial uses in the San Joaquin Valley. The hydrology of the lake is heavily influenced by snowmelt, with snowpack from the Sierra Nevada Mountains contributing to the surface flow. The lake is also fed by several smaller streams and tributaries. The area surrounding Redinger Lake is primarily used for agriculture, including the cultivation of almonds, grapes, and citrus fruits. The lake also provides recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, and camping.
