The river is rated class III-IV, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced paddlers. The segment is approximately 8 miles long and features a number of notable rapids and obstacles, including Double Drop, Corner Pocket, and Triple Step.
In terms of regulations, the area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and requires a permit for overnight camping. Additionally, boaters are required to have a life jacket and a sound-producing device, and must follow Leave No Trace principles when camping.
