The French Creek section of the Whitewater River in Idaho is a popular spot for kayakers and rafters, with a recommended streamflow range of 500-2000 cfs. The river is rated class III-IV, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced paddlers. The segment is approximately 8 miles long and features a number of notable rapids and obstacles, including Double Drop, Corner Pocket, and Triple Step.

In terms of regulations, the area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and requires a permit for overnight camping. Additionally, boaters are required to have a life jacket and a sound-producing device, and must follow Leave No Trace principles when camping. It is also important to note that the French Creek section is only runnable during the spring runoff season, typically from April to June.
