B. Everett Jordan Lake is a reservoir located at the Dam near Moncure, North Carolina. The lake was completed in 1983 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is named after B. Everett Jordan, a senator from North Carolina. The lake has a surface area of around 14,000 acres and is a major water source for the Raleigh-Durham area. The hydrology of the lake is primarily fed by the Haw River and New Hope Creek, which provide both surface flow and snowpack providers. The lake also serves as a recreational area for fishing, boating, and swimming. Additionally, the agricultural sector utilizes the lake as a source of irrigation for crops.
