James Lake, located in Albany County, Wyoming, is a privately owned irrigation reservoir with a primary purpose of providing water for agricultural use. Built in 1908, this earth dam stands at 40 feet in height and has a storage capacity of 41,100 acre-feet. The reservoir covers a surface area of 1,393 acres and is fed by Seven Mile Creek, a tributary of the Little Laramie River.
