Dry and very gusty conditions are expected to develop this afternoon. Relative humidity values will drop below 30%, and possibly below 25%, across the low terrain and mountain valleys, alongside gusts to at least 25kts. Fine fuel moisture remains very dry after only light rainfall on Monday, so conditions warrant increased fire danger from noon today through 8 PM this evening. A statewide outdoor burn ban remains in place for both North Carolina and South Carolina. For northeast Georgia, consult your local burn-permitting authority on whether or not you may burn outdoors. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.

Beech Mountain is a prominent peak located in the Appalachian Mountains mountain range. With an elevation of approximately 5,506 feet, it is the highest town east of the Mississippi River. The mountain itself spans an area of about 8 square miles, offering a diverse range of outdoor recreational activities for visitors.

The name "Beech Mountain" is believed to have originated from the abundance of beech trees that once populated the area. These trees, known for their smooth gray bark and beautiful autumn foliage, created a distinctive landscape on the mountain. Additionally, legends and folklore surrounding Beech Mountain often revolve around mysterious disappearances and unexplained phenomena, adding to the mountain's allure and intrigue.
