Strontia Springs is a concrete dam located in Kassler, Colorado, along the South Platte River. Completed in 1982, this structure serves as a vital water supply source for the region, with a storage capacity of 10,600 acre-feet and a normal storage level of 7,700 acre-feet. The dam stands at a height of 292 feet and has a structural height of 299 feet, making it an impressive feature in the landscape.

Managed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Strontia Springs also serves purposes beyond water supply, including hydroelectric power generation and recreation. With a spillway width of 97 feet and a maximum discharge capacity of 55,000 cubic feet per second, the dam is equipped to handle high hazard potential situations. While the condition assessment is currently not available, regular inspections are conducted, with the last one taking place in September 2020.
