About this reservoir

B. A. Steinhagen Lk At Town Bluff

B.A. Steinhagen Lake, located near Town Bluff, Texas, was created in 1951 by the construction of a dam on the Neches River. The lake covers over 10,000 acres and is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and camping. The hydrology of the lake is fed by the Neches River and other smaller streams, and it provides water for nearby agricultural uses. The lake also serves as a vital habitat for a variety of fish and wildlife species. The surface flow of the lake is maintained by releases from the Sam Rayburn Dam upstream, and snowpack providers are not a significant factor in this region. Overall, B.A. Steinhagen Lake is an important recreational and ecological resource for the Southeast Texas region.
