Roberts, located in Sheridan, Wyoming, is a privately owned dam on the South Dry Creek, primarily used for irrigation purposes. Built in 1952, this earth dam stands at 25 feet in height and spans 660 feet in length, with a storage capacity of 128 acre-feet. Despite its low hazard potential, Roberts is currently assessed to be in poor condition as of the last inspection in August 2017.

The dam features an uncontrolled spillway with a width of 25 feet and a single slide gate for outlet control. While it is regulated by the State of Wyoming and undergoes regular inspections, the condition assessment and risk assessment both indicate areas for improvement. With Liz Cheney representing Congressional District 00, Wyoming, there is a need for ongoing monitoring and maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of the structure.

Given its moderate risk rating and the importance of water resources in the region, Roberts serves as a crucial element in the local irrigation system. As climate change continues to impact water availability and usage, it is essential to address the dam's poor condition and implement necessary risk management measures to safeguard this vital water resource for the community of Acme and beyond.
