Berry Creek, also known as Ben Irving Reservoir, is a local government-owned water storage facility located in Ollala, Douglas County, Oregon. This reservoir, completed in 1980, serves as a crucial source of water for irrigation and general water supply purposes in the region. With a capacity of 15,000 acre-feet and a normal storage level of 11,250 acre-feet, Berry Creek plays a vital role in supporting agricultural activities and ensuring water availability for the community.

The dam at Berry Creek is an earth type structure standing at a height of 140 feet with a structural height of 148 feet. With a drainage area of 17.2 square miles and a maximum discharge capacity of 12,000 cubic feet per second, the reservoir provides flood control benefits in addition to its primary water supply function. Despite its high hazard potential, Berry Creek dam is deemed to be in satisfactory condition as of the last inspection in November 2020, ensuring its continued safety and reliability for the surrounding area.

Managed by the Oregon Water Resources Department, Berry Creek reservoir is subject to state regulation, permitting, inspection, and enforcement to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. With its strategic location on Berry Creek and impressive storage capacity, this reservoir stands as a key component of the local water resource infrastructure, demonstrating the importance of sustainable water management practices in the face of changing climate conditions.
