Granby #7 is a private irrigation dam located in Cedaredge, Colorado, along the Dirty George Creek-TR. Built in 1964, this earth dam stands at a height of 17 feet and has a storage capacity of 151 acre-feet. With a surface area of 15 acres and a drainage area of 2 square miles, Granby #7 serves primarily for irrigation purposes.

Despite its low hazard potential and satisfactory condition assessment, Granby #7 is considered to have a high risk due to certain factors. The dam is not equipped with a spillway, and its outlet gates consist of slide and uncontrolled mechanisms. The last inspection of the dam took place in July 2017, with an inspection frequency of every 6 years, indicating a need for regular monitoring and maintenance to ensure its continued safety and efficiency.

Although Granby #7 has not been modified in recent years and is not under the jurisdiction of the USACE, its location in a high-risk area warrants attention to risk management measures. With a high-risk rating of 2, it is crucial for the relevant agencies, such as the Colorado Division of Water Resources, to stay vigilant in their oversight and maintenance of this essential water resource infrastructure.
