A Flood Advisory remains in effect for the Cache River near Patterson in Jackson and Woodruff Counties, Arkansas, issued July 12 at 11:01 PM CDT. Excessive rainfall has caused elevated river levels, with the stage at 8.0 feet as of 10:15 PM Sunday. The National Weather Service forecasts the river will rise to 8.5 feet by Tuesday morning, July 14, with additional rises possible thereafter. At 8.0 feet, low swampy timberland begins flooding; flood stage is 9.0 feet. Residents in affected areas should monitor conditions closely and avoid flooded roadways and waterways. The advisory remains in effect until further notice.

About Arkansas streamflow
Where does the Arkansas streamflow data come from?
The U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System. USGS streamgauges report continuously (every 15 minutes) and the data is the canonical real-time record for U.S. rivers. Snoflo pulls the latest readings and joins them to a 7-day NOAA weather forecast for each station.
What is cfs?
Cubic feet per second — the standard unit for streamflow. One cfs is about 7.5 gallons per second. Small creeks run at single-digit cfs; the Mississippi at hundreds of thousands.
What does Gauge Height mean?
The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
How fresh is the Arkansas data?
