A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for south-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau until 6:00 PM HST on September 29th due to Hurricane Nolo. Large surf of 7 to 10 feet is expected to impact these islands, with strong breaking waves and dangerous currents making swimming hazardous. Residents and visitors in coastal areas of Kauai and Niihau should exercise extreme caution near beaches and avoid entering the water. The advisory is expected to diminish by Wednesday as the swell shifts westward, though some uncertainty remains regarding the timing of conditions improving.

The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
