Iowans should exercise caution this morning as Dense Fog Advisories affect northern, western, and southern portions of the state until 10:00 AM CDT, with visibility reduced to one quarter mile or less in affected areas. Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and use extra caution, particularly in northwest Iowa near Sioux Falls-monitored regions and southwest Iowa near the Nebraska border. Additionally, a Flood Watch remains in effect for the Thompson River at Davis City in Decatur County, where river stages could reach the 12-foot flood stage threshold in coming days. At 3:00 AM, the Thompson River measured 6.5 feet, with potential rises expected over the next several days that may impact low-lying areas around Davis City park and rural roads. Residents in these regions should monitor weather updates closely and prepare for possible flooding impacts.
