Major flooding continues across eastern Iowa with significant impacts to Scott, Clinton, and Louisa counties. The Wapsipinicon River near De Witt remains at major flood stage (12.7 feet as of Saturday morning), with water affecting U.S. Highway 61 and expected to remain elevated through Thursday afternoon. The Iowa River at Oakville and Wapello is experiencing minor flooding with River Road currently underwater and water reaching the levees. While both rivers are forecast to recede below flood stage by early Thursday and Friday respectively, residents should avoid flooded roadways and remain cautious. Additional heavy rain is possible next week in eastern Iowa, which could exacerbate current flooding conditions. Those in affected areas should monitor weather updates closely and prepare for potential evacuation if conditions worsen.
