Iowa residents in northwest and west-central portions of the state should prepare for a Heat Advisory in effect until 9:00 PM CDT today, with heat index values reaching 100 degrees. Simultaneously, a Flood Warning remains active for the Cedar River near Conesville in Louisa and Muscatine Counties through Saturday morning, with minor flooding already occurring. Water is affecting yards, access roads, and campgrounds near I-80, as well as sections of Jack Shuger Memorial Park in Moscow. The river is expected to crest just after midnight tonight before receding. Residents should avoid flooded areas and take precautions against heat-related illnesses, staying hydrated and limiting outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
