A strong thunderstorm tracked across south-central Nebraska on September 12, moving eastward at 40 mph from the Glenvil area near Hastings. The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement warning of wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny-sized hail affecting multiple communities including Sutton, Clay Center, Fairfield, Glenvil, Inland, and Saronville. Residents in these areas faced risks of downed tree limbs, scattered debris, and minor damage to outdoor structures. The alert remained in effect through 9:15 AM CDT. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and exercise caution during the storm's passage through the region.
