The National Weather Service has issued Flood Watches for western Nevada (including Reno, Carson City, and Minden) and eastern Nevada (White Pine, Lander, and Eureka counties) due to heavy thunderstorm activity expected through today and tonight. Flash flooding, rock, mud, and debris flows pose particular hazards in steep terrain, poorly drained urban areas, and near active fire perimeters including the Bug and Stallion Fires. The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
