A Heat Advisory remains in effect across portions of east central, southeast, southern, and southwest Oklahoma until 7:00 PM CDT on September 2nd. Heat index values are expected to reach dangerous levels up to 109 degrees, with the most intense heat occurring between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM this afternoon. Residents throughout affected areas, including communities in the southeastern and southwestern regions of the state, should take precautions against heat-related illnesses by staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak hours, and checking on vulnerable individuals. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity poses a significant health risk, particularly for the elderly, young children, and those with medical conditions.
