A Flood Watch is in effect across central and southern Utah from Monday morning through early Tuesday morning (September 27-29) as tropical moisture and an upper-level weather system combine to produce widespread heavy rainfall. Affected areas include Castle Country, the Central Mountains, San Rafael Swell, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park, Glen Canyon/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, the Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County, and Zion National Park. Isolated storms may produce rainfall rates exceeding 1 inch per hour, creating dangerous flooding in rivers, creeks, dry washes, slot canyons, and recent burn scar areas including Cottonwood, Widemouth 2, France Canyon, Monroe Canyon, Forsyth, and Silver King. Residents and visitors in these regions should prepare for potential flash flooding and avoid flood-prone areas during the warning period.

What does Gauge Height mean?
The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
How fresh is the Utah data?
