A Flood Watch remains in effect across southern and southeastern Utah from late Saturday through Sunday evening, issued by NWS Salt Lake City. Affected areas include Castle Country, San Rafael Swell, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park, Glen Canyon Recreation Area, Lower Washington County, and Zion National Park. Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is expected, with moist ground conditions from recent storms intensifying runoff risks. Residents should expect fast-moving floodwaters in washes, streams, rivers, and slot canyons, with potential flooding of low-lying areas and recent burn scars. Backcountry roads may become impassable. Exercise extreme caution near water sources and avoid flooded areas.

Cubic feet per second — the standard unit for streamflow. One cfs is about 7.5 gallons per second. Small creeks run at single-digit cfs; the Mississippi at hundreds of thousands.
What does Gauge Height mean?
The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
