Multiple Red Flag Warnings are in effect for virtually all regions including the Wasatch Mountains, Uinta Basin, San Rafael Swell, Color Country, and southern Utah areas, with relative humidity dropping to 5-10% and wind gusts reaching 35 mph—conditions that will cause any new or existing fires to spread rapidly. Simultaneously, Extreme Heat Warnings affect the Wasatch Front, Salt Lake Valley, Utah Valley, and southern Utah including Zion National Park and Washington County, with temperatures reaching 102-112°F. What is cfs?
Cubic feet per second — the standard unit for streamflow. One cfs is about 7.5 gallons per second. Small creeks run at single-digit cfs; the Mississippi at hundreds of thousands.
What does Gauge Height mean?
The water level at the gauge in feet above the reference datum. Used together with discharge to track river state. Flood stage and runnable levels are typically expressed in gauge height (e.g., "flood at 16 ft").
How fresh is the Utah data?
USGS streamgauges report every 15 minutes; Snoflo re-pulls throughout the day. The AI briefing regenerates daily.
